North Idaho College Silver Valley Center hosting open house BBQ

Welcome Back Students!  
North Idaho College is hosting an open house BBQ at the Silver Valley Center for new and returning students. Student activities officers will provide a free bbq and chances for students to win prizes.  There will also be an opportunity to register for Adult Basic Education and GED courses during the open house.

Wednesday September 3, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

In the last two weeks I've toured Spunstrand's manufacturing facilities in Wallace, New Jersey Mining's mill outside of Kellogg, and Enyeart Cedar in Smelterville.

Silver Valley EDC - NIC Dual Credit Scholarship

What is the North Idaho College Dual Credit Program?
Dual credit provides high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to enroll in North Idaho College classes for both high school and college credit. Students at Wallace and Kellogg high schools are eligible to enroll in dual credit courses. Students should be at least 16 years old and/or have successfully completed at least half of their high school graduation requirements. A minimum 3.0 GPA is recommended. SPAM I am?

This goes in the 'Technology Is Supposed To Make My Life Easier' file.  Yesterday I sent out a mass emailing to Silver Valley Economic Development members.  Turns out, many of the email addresses are no longer in use - businesses close, people retire or switch internet providers.  Life happens. 

Unfortunately, due to the large number of emails bounced back from one server, my SVEDC email address was locked down as originating SPAM.  It was a tedious afternoon resolving the problem.  But the nice man in tech support at Suddenlink was helpful in getting my account unlocked.  Lesson learned: clean up email files regularly!
