REMINDER: West Silver Valley Air Quality Citizens Advisory meeting tonight

The West Silver Valley Air Quality Citizens Advisory Committee will meet Thursday, February 19, from 6 to 7 p.m., at Pinehurst City Hall, 106 N. Division St.

Committee members will work with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to develop an air quality improvement plan known as a State Implementation Plan, or SIP, which will describe how the area intends to reach and maintain compliance with air quality standards. The meeting will focus on open burning and community outreach and education.

Participants will also learn about local air quality issues and how decisions are made and discuss potential emission reduction measures for the area.

Tonight's agenda:

West Silver Valley Citizens Advisory Committee

Purpose: To provide the public and representatives of various stakeholder groups with a forum to; identify and understand air quality issues facing the West Silver Valley (WSV), determine appropriate emission reduction efforts in the community; to participate in local efforts to establish and codify reduction techniques necessary for the development of a successful State Implementation Plan for the area.
